The question we’re all asking is: Why is Ramona still on Real Housewives of New York City?

Ramona is an OG of RHONY, and I respect that status to an extent because her antics have certainly provided me with much entertainment over the years. My personal highlight was her runway walk with ‘crazy’ eyes that Andy Cohen majestically turned into a beloved game on Watch What Happens Live. That said, I now firmly believe that Ramona has done her dash.

I’m fine with the Real Housewives concept showing a diverse range of cast members with differing political views; Ramona has made it clear where her political views lie. But her stance in 2021 seems extremely tone-deaf to me. When a person of color is introduced into the cast (yes, Eboni!!!), she introduces her own friend (Bershaun, who I actually very much enjoy thus far), as if it’s a tit-for-tat, as if this somehow makes her ‘woke’. She seems to think that makes her behavior okay.

She seems to find any conversation that’s not about men problematic. But at the same time, she finds a sex-positive conversation by Leah also problematic. It’s hard to please this woman, that’s for sure. Maybe she’s more noisy about other cast members in 2021 because she’s not pushing a pinot grigio or whatever her latest ‘entrepreneurial’ endeavor is, or maybe she’s just bored AF because of the pandemic.

Anyhoo…. it was in this week’s episode that I felt like I was finally done for good. After repeated episodes of her shaking her head, waving her hands all over the place and stressing that she ‘doesnt’ want to talk about this and can’t everyone just have a good time’-type scenario, she attends a Shabat dinner, which she claims is a regular occurrence for her. To kick things off, she jokes about the napkins, which the host has made and are actually super awesome giant napkins, being too large. Like… why?! Is Ramona the napkin police? The Secret Service of Serviettes? Sure, she says that Leah’s prayer is beautiful, but then the shenanigans really begin. Amidst a ‘Black Shabat’, she proclaims that Italians and Jews have ‘much in common’ with their traditions, and then goes on to say that she personally was ostracized by her Jewish classmates for being Christian.

Ramona — you reminded me of my own loopy mother enough for me to find you somewhat endearing enough to stay for all these years. But at this point, I’m honestly done with you. And so should the Real Housewives empire. There are people more interesting, and much more entertaining, than you.
